Read Theory

Today we were going through our Read Theory progress and I had fun going through because I saw my progress that I have on Read Theory, For all my 2018 year in Panmure Bridge School my highest grade is 5 and my lowest grade is 3, In February I had  grade 5 and in March and June and July I had the lowest grade I had grade 3 and in April and May I had grade 4 which was in between. 

Panmure Bridge book week

This week Panmure Bridge school is celebrating book week and LS2 made a DLO about our reading history. One of my favorite book was Garfield the fat cat and I loved that book so much it about Garfield is about a fat cat, he loves to eat a lot of lasagna and he never get full of it, I love Garfield the the cat because he is so cute and he loves to eat. Two of my fovert book are The best day of my life and its about a girl. Even though Valli spends her days picking coa and fighting with her cousins, life in the coal town of Jharia, India, is the only life she knows. The only site that fills her with terror is the monsters who live on the other side of the train tracks - the lepers. When Valli discovers that that her 'aunt' is a stranger who was paid money to take Valli off her own family's hands, she leaves Jharia and begins a series of adventures that takes her to Kolkata, the city of the gods and Malala is about a girl named Malala. One day she gets on a bus with her friends and this man comes and sit by her, he get a gun out and shoots her in the head and she get rushed to the hospital and she still lives in the end.

Today I have been on readtheory, I really enjoy being on read theory because it has help me with most of my thing like my reading, read theory has helped with my reading because I have learned new words and it has helped me in writing too. I enjoy going on readthorey every day and I think you should go on readthorey if you need some help in any learning work

Collaborative Comprehension

Today for reading I was with Sky, Nevaeh, Freeman, Jona and christopher, we all were working on a DLO about  Collaborative Comprehension, I think it was a really bad idea because to many young buy and men died. It was hard to find most of the answers and I would love to find out more things about this.

Did I miss anything

Today for read were working on a DLO about a poem, I was working with Nickaela and Magenta on this DLO and we all had a wonderful time making this DLO. We needed to find a verse from the poem and illustrate and we got Nothing. When we realised you weren't here. We sat with our hands folded on our desks in silence, for the full two hours, it was a hard making this DLO because I was the one the had to draw and I had fun at the same time.

Today I have been on read theory, read theory is a really fun way of learning and It has helped me with a lot of things like it has helped me with reading and getting most of the answers right. I have a lot of fun going on read theory, read theory has helped me on the read test and more and I think you should go on it because it will help you a lot.

Holiday reading - The Phoenix of Destiny by Geronimo Stilton

This holiday for term three, I have been reading a book that is very cool it called The Phoenix of Destiny by Geronimo Stilton and it's about Geronimo Stilton, Geronimo has to go to the Kingdom of Fantasy again. Geronimo Stilton gets there by the wings of a Phoenix and why does Geronimo Stilton have to go back the Kingdom of Fantasy?, he has to go there because Blossom the Queen of the fairies needs Geronimo Stilton help once and again. If you want to know if Geronimo Stilton helps Blossom the Queen of the fairies and if Geronimo Stilton gets everything back to normal you have to read the book, I really had a lot of fun reading The Phoenix of Destiny and I really think you should read The Phoenix of Destiny to because its a wonderful book and it's fun to read.

Hochstetter's frogs

This week for Mrs Kirkpatrick reading group we have been working on a DLO about New Zealand animals, I got a New Zealand Hochstetter's frog and they a lot of cool thing about them like Hochstetter's frogs have only partial webbing between the toes and they are Amphibians. Hochstetter's live in just some parts of New Zealand and they are very cool animals. I had a lot of fun making this DLO about Hochstetter's frogs and I had a lot of fun learning new thing about Hochstetter's frogs. 

Labelling books about grate

Today for reading we joined Pakatoa have been labelling books about great scientists and we all worked really well with each other and we picked a page and we had to label the words and photos and the titles and more. I really had a lot of fun and I would love to play the labelling game, next time I would help more with the labelling the pages.

The best day of my life

The best day of my life

The best day I ever had was when I was about 5 years old and I got the best
news ever, I found out that we were going to New Zealand and I was so
joyful that we were going to New Zealand and that meant that we were going
to leave most of our family members behind but it also meant that we were
going to be safe in New Zealand. It was really hard leaving my friends
and family behind but was more hard was leaving my house and country
and it felt like I was leaving childhood home and a part of me behind and
was so happy that were leaving at the same time because we were going
to be safe.

This is one of my work that I have been working on in Mrs Kirkpatrick reading. We made a DLO of our best day of our life or the worst day of our life and I did the bet day of my life because coming to New Zealand is the best thing ever to me because its safe in here were I can call home.

wheel words

Today Mrs Kirkpatrick reading was playing wheel words and we got ten minutes to find as much words we can, wheel words is a reading games that has been helping me by finding words and learning new words that I have not hard about before. I got 4 out of 16 from the 4 letter words and I got 1 out of 5 from the 5 letter words and I did not get any other ones because it was a bit hard and I used 2 hints or 3 hints. One of the new words I found out about is aegis is supporting that particular person and I really enjoy going on wheel words.

This is my readtheory graph and it show the title of what I have been reading and it show when I have been on readtheory ( the date ) and my level and the scores, I really enjoy going on readthory because it has helped me with my reading and my understating of a book that I have read, next time I will be sure to read the words carefully and answer the question more carefully so I get them right.

wheel words

Today for reading we played wheel words, wheel words is a fun learning game that helps you find words. Wheel words is really fun to play and I used two hints to help me find a word and I only got 6 words out of 22 words, I got 3 out 10 4 letter words and one of the words is Gill, Gill is something fishes have to help them breathe. I got 3 out of 5 from the 5 letter words and one of the words is Guilt and guilt is when you feel bad. I did not get any thing for the six letter words and the 7 letter words or the 8 or 9 because it was really hard finding those words.

Kahoot

Today at reading we played a game of kahoot it was really fun and hard. We had to answer question  the answer and most of the question was really hard most of the question confused me. I forgot most of the answers because they were hard . We made a kahoot a few days ago.

 Nyjah and I we have been working on our DLO about a book that we where reading about. Its about the British wanting to still New Zealand form the Maori's and it was really fun doing the 20 important words and it was hard doing the summary for me but I had fun doing the important's words.

Today for reading we started with Wheel words, it was hard finding words with B and I used 3 hints for the  letter. I learnt a new word, it is Breed, Breed is a when a animals make babies. 

Evaluating

  

This week for reading we were working on on a DLO about a boy named Harry who get invited to war with some more people. They where taring for 3 months and they travelled to war in England and when they get to England they found out the war was cancelled. The chiefs had to find a way to keep the solderers occupied they ordered the solderers to make a Kiwi out of chalk. The kiwi that was made out chalk is now named The Bulford Kiwi.

Today I have been doing the holiday blogging challenge it has been really fun doing this. This was my first day  and second challenge that I have done to fine things about rainbow's end. It was really fun researching about rainbow's end and that I have done.
